Larong Pinoy, Larong DELITE

By SM Retail / October 20, 2025

SM Retail’s Palarong Pinoy brought fun, wellness, and values to life!

It was a workday unlike any other at SM Retail as employees hopped on one foot, dodge waving arms, and kicked sipa balls. Our recent Palarong Pinoy activity turned the workplace into a Filipino playground, featuring timeless favorites like dama, piko, patintero, and sipa.

The nostalgia was undeniable. These were the same games that once brightened our childhood afternoons. But this time, the fun came with a deeper purpose: beyond celebrating Filipino culture, it served as a reminder that SM Retail’s true strength lies not just in its scale, but in the shared joy and teamwork of our employees.

More Than Play: Living Out DELITE

Beyond the laughter and excitement, the activity embodied SM Retail’s DELITE values. Every jump, sprint, and move reflected the energy our employees bring, not just to games, but to serving millions of customers each day. Team captains stepped up, guiding peers through strategies much like navigating workplace challenges. From fair turns in dama to honest calls in patintero, DELITE values shone through even in the heat of play. Colleagues cheered, supported, and celebrated with one another as they defended territories and hopped their way toward an exciting prize.

The games encouraged movement, laughter, and stress relief while nurturing bonds across departments and business groups. By bringing play into the workplace, SM Retail strengthens its culture of care and inclusion, showing that productivity flourishes when employees genuinely enjoy where they work.
